The mission of The HUB is to provide support and access to services for young people transitioning into adulthood who are disconnected from their family and the community.

The HUB was created by the Transitional Service Network (TSN). The TSN was a committee of representatives from 25 youth-serving organizations who identified a gap in service for young adults ages 16-24 who are experiencing barriers that have hindered their progress toward becoming productive adults. The TSN conducted focus groups and wrote grants to make The HUB a reality.

The HUB began serving young people in October, 2004. Lincoln Action Program provided management for the project.

The HUB received its 501(c)(3) in April 2007. In July 2007, the HUB officially became an independent agency.

The HUB purchased, remodeled and moved into the building at 1037 S. 12th Street.
